Marc Sofer

Marc is the Director of Professional Training at Sundive and our resident PADI Course Director. He is also a PADI Specialty Instructor Trainer, an EFR Instructor Trainer, an IANTD Instructor, a DAN Instructor, has over 4000 logged dives and has taught hundreds of successful candidates, many of which now own or manage Dive Centres all over the world. Marc is trained in Mixed Gas Technical Diving, Semi-Closed and Closed Circuit Rebreather Diving, Full Cave Diving (NSS-CDS), Gas Blending, is a Scubapro Service Technician, holds a Cert IV in Training and Assessment qualification and has received a number of ‘PADI Recognition of Excellence’ awards during his career. In addition, Marc won a ‘Britain’s Young Business Leader’ award in 2010 and was listed in the ‘Who’s Who of Britain’s Business Elite’ for his achievements working in the United Kingdom. 

Marc‘s career as a dive professional began in 2000 in Central America, at an award-winning dive resort and one of the leading professional dive education establishments in the industry. In 2002 he became a Managing Partner, culminating in a PADI award for the most productive single location dive facility worldwide in 2004. Since then he has taught and dived across the globe, in the tropical waters of the Caribbean, the Yucatan Cave systems in Mexico, the Pacific coast of Central America, the Red Sea, Fiji, the Mediterranean, the islands of the Indian Ocean, the colder depths of New Zealand and along the East coast of Australia.
