"First of all the location of the dive shop is awesome. Diving at Julian Rocks is one of the best experiences you can have. It’s guaranteed that you see incredible creatures such as leopard sharks in the summertime and whales + nurse sharks in the wintertime. Sundive is taking care about their trainees and they are super supportive in helping you to reach your dream of being a dive professional. The DM course and the IDC is very fun, especially when you’re in training with the Course Director Marc Sofer. He really knows what he’s doing and even after you finish your instructor exam he’s super supportive when it comes to how to finally start your career. I can always drop him a mail when I’ve a question. If I had to choose again where I do my training I’d 1000% choose Sundive again and again!"

If you are considering becoming an instructor then look no further! Sundive ticks all the boxes by running an IDC that not only prepares you for the IE (which a lot of programmes solely focus on) but also becoming a good instructor once you go on to work after. Small teams so you have all the attention that you require.

Jack who runs the shop has excellent facilities and a very tight operation. They also stock a great range of masks and snorkels should you happen to lose yours in a quarry during your training! Everyone at the sundive team is knowledgeable and approachable. M.V.P goes to Marc who teaches you what it is to be a successful and professional instructor, while having a lot of fun along the way! Cant recommend the programme and the staff highly enough!! Thank you guys!

My experience doing my IDC with Sundive was amazing. I could have not been happier with the outcome. Marc and the staff at Sundive are very experienced and made learning enjoyable. I enjoyed the smaller group we had as it was very personable which made it easier to learn. When I went to do my IE I felt I was extremely prepared which made the experience more fun. Byron Bay is the best place to do your IDC - Could not recommend Sundive any higher.

Finished my IDC in November with Marc and couldn't have asked for a better place to complete this training or a better course director! Marc moulded us into awesome instructors and our examiner was even calling us the dream team! 
Besides awesome training and friendly staff there's not much better than completing your open water dives at Julian Rocks! A world class dive site all year round,

If you are thinking of taking that next step and becoming a PADI instructor I couldn't recommend a better place to do your IDC!

The welcoming, helpful and friendly attitude in the diveshop made my stay an awesome experience. Marc is a very experienced instructor and diver who can tell you a lot about all diving related topics. All the other instructors, skippers, office staff and owner were great too. Every day there was something to learn and to discover and Julian Rocks is a great dive site incredible aquatic life, swim throughs and trenches. The boat ride to the dive site is about ten minutes so it´s very easy to get there. And don't forget Byron Bay itself! What a cool and relaxed town with awesome food, shops, restaurants, bars, music and beaches.

The crew are extremely experienced with some of the most experienced divers in Australia working there. The conditions range from nice and calm to reasonably challenging so if you learn in Byron you are pretty good to handle anywhere else. On top of that there's an awesome laid back vibe to Byron and a great night life scene after diving. ☺️
